It is a tradition for cadets to view their days at the Academy as counting
down from the time they enter.

Description |

Cadet 4th Class
|
Freshmen, with four years ahead of them at the Academy, are called "fourth year" cadets
(aka C4C, doolies, 4o, 4 degrees, 4 digs, smacks). |

Cadet 3rd Class
|
Sophomores with three years are "third year" cadets till the big day, hence, C3C & 3o. |

Cadet 2nd Class
|
Juniors, called "second year" cadets have two years left, hence, C2C or 2o. |

Cadet 1st Class
|
Seniors have one year till graduation, & are thus called "first year" cadets, C1C, 1o, & firsties. |
