MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS*
Membership in USAFA parents' clubs come highly recommended by the command staff, including the Superintendent. The cadet's 4-year Academy enrollment is a rollicking roller coaster ride of climbing high peaks of joy and descending into low valleys of utter misery. Parents sometimes do not feel up to the task, or are spent and need re-energizing from parents who have been there, done that. We, your fellow Academy parents, want to see your cadet succeed, and so we extend a hand in friendship. Come join us!

The Academy experience is like no other university experience. Unique among the five service academies, USAFA is situated on a mountaintop 15 minutes distant by car from the surrounding community, separated by a geographical and social chasm. This is far from a civilian university experience. The academics are very rigorous, at 7,268 ft elevation the physical aspects are daunting, and the mental challenges appear enormous. Helping a cadet and his/her family through the four years at the Academy (sometimes five for a preppie) takes a community of caring, cognizant members. We also provide a shoulder to lean on and a listening ear when you or your cadet needs support, all on a confidential basis.

Membership fees support club events throughout the year, including the ALO Candidate Reception, Appointee Reception, Graduate Parent Reception, Doolie/Preppie Parent Dinner, Annual Summer Picnic, Parents' Weekend Football Club Event, twice yearly mailing of the Finals Care Packages to every single Los Angeles County cadet and preppie, the Finals Care Package/Holiday Party, Club Meetings, as well as the UPALAC web site, immediate USAFA updates and news, online password-protected club documents like our Club Roster, Beat the Beast information, USAFA Honors' Lists, and our invaluable handouts like the USAFA Terms, Acronyms and Abbreviations, Doolie Parent Tips, Preppie Parent Tips, etc.

NAMETAGS
USAFA Parents' Club personalized nametags are traditionally worn at all USAFA events, including the popular Parents' Weekend, Acceptance Day, ALO Candidate Reception, Club Meetings, etc. Don't leave home without it.
